Vernacare provides a total solution for the safe disposal of human waste (the Vernacare System) comprising  moulded pulp receptacles which are disposed of safely via the macerator process, which breaks down the pulp into tiny fragments and washes them down the drains with the waste water.    Vernacare has also developed a range of complementary products, all with infection control benefits.

At its head office and manufacturing base in Bolton, UK, Vernacare produces 150 million moulded paper pulp receptacles each year.  In the UK, 90% of hospitals use the Vernacare System.

Infection Control is a worldwide issue, with all hospitals fighting a battle against hospital acquired infections.  Vernacare, having developed the original best practice model of human waste management, has created a global market opportunity based on its strong UK position.  Vernacare currently exports to 47 countries through a network of distributors and its own subsidiary  serving the North American markets (Canada and the US).  Vernacare SA Pty commenced operation in June 2007.  Our head office is based in Johannesburg and we have direct representation in all the major centres in South Africa.  We have a total staff of 9 full time personnel and a number of other consultants and partners that are involved in the day-to-day running of our business.
